Born on March 4 1968 in Whittier California graduated high school from West Covina high school in 1987 Received a bachelor of Arts in Bible from Oklahoma Christian in 1991 Received a Master's in ministry from Oklahoma Christian in 1994. Has been the pulpit minister in Ripley, Ok;   Seiling, OK; Crowley, TX; Gorman, TX; and has been at  Sanger Church of Christ since 1997.
 
John started preaching on occasion while still in high school. He began a weekly preaching position while still in college in 1990 and went right to a full time position upon graduation. He has never wanted anything less than to be the preacher of a congregation even when his professors said he would have to start in youth ministry. He proved them wrong and worked with a smaller congregation ministering to all ages and offering special opprotunities for the youth including putting on a youth rally with Don Williams and taking and preparing the Gorman and Sanger youth to Leadership Training for Christ conventions in Dallas.
 
John's parents work with the Henderson TX church of Christ in Henderson, TX. Bob, his dad, has been a minister since John was around 4 years old. His younger sister Jackie's husband Dustin Gist is the family minister for the church of Christ in Conroe, TX.
He also has an older sister from Conroe and a younger brother from San Antonio.
 
John also started as a voluteer fireman when he lived in Gorman,TX. He was able to continue this interest in Sanger for many years and also earned EMT credentials while volunteering in Sanger. He currently works part time as an EMT in Krum and is a volunteer fireman there.
 
John married Dawn Pryor in December of 1989. They have three children-Nathan, Alissa and Natalie. Dawn is a fourth grade teacher at Clear Creek in Sanger.  John enjoys boating, camping, building or fixing almost anything and Words with friends on his I phone.

Youth Minister

Mason Peebles

Mason Peebles was born in Texarkana TX.  He has a B.S. in Recreation Therapy, M.S. Therapeutic Recreation and Ed.D in Higher Education with research emphasis in adventure therapy and at-risk youth.

 
He serves as Sanger's youth minister and oversees the Little Angels in Action program.
 
He and his wife Lynda Renee Leavelle have two children; Kaylie and Kason.
 
His specific area of service is working with the youth of all ages.  Mason also serves as part time song leader and preaches on occasion.
 
When the church kids are not keeping him busy he loves golf and anything that involves an outdoor activity.
 



Jr. Youth Minister

Ray Sebastian

Ray grew up in Sanger, graduating from Sanger High School.  He attended the University of North Texas and he currently serves as the Youth Minister for Junior Youth.

Ray and his wife Danielle Foster Sebastian have 2 children, Nathan and Elena.

He works as a Project Manager for G&A Consultants.

Suzy McCowen was born in Tupelo, Mississippi.  She has been the church secretary since August 1, 1995.  She and her husband Doug have 3 grown children  Randy and wife Fairity, Jenny and husband Matt, and Daniel and wife Kim; and 8 grandchildren. 

 
When Suzy is not keeping everyone organized her other hobbies and interests are reading, cooking, sewing, needlework, and woodworking.

Ronnie and his wife Pie have worshipped at the Sanger church for many years.  They have 3 grown children and 12 grandchildren.

Kenneth Crouch

Kenneth Crouch was born in Bowie County, TX. He attended school in DeKalb and Lamesa. He is a retired educator with an MEd. He was a Supt (16 yrs), Principal (10 yrs) and Teacher/coach (11 yrs)
He is married to Karen (Davis) Crouch.

They have three children Kelli, Kristi and Cody.

Kenneth served as an elder in O'Donnel in the 1980's and now serves as an elder at Sanger.
Retired from employment but stays busy with church work, grandkids, and honey do's. Kenneth is also a sports fan and like to fish, hunt, watch grandkids perform especially in basketball. He says "I love children and am very emotional when they do good, are hurting, or in trouble."

Mitchell Smith

Mitchell was born in Dallas TX and attended W.T. White HS (Dallas), UTA & UNT. He owns Kelly Computer Resources and North Texas Networks. He is married to Susan (Cathey) Smith and they have 3 children: Justin and wife Jenny, Sarah and husband Jeff, and Travis and wife Maddie. He and Susan also dote on their three grandsons.

As an elder he visits, counsels, and prays with members. In his spare time he enjoys fishing and working on old cars.

Craig Waggoner

Craig was born in Denton TX and grew up in Sanger, graduating from Sanger High School in 1979. He has been very active in the community his entire adult life. He was on the Sanger Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, serving as Chief for part of that time. He has served on the Sanger City Council and the Clear Creek Watershed  Board.  He is the voice of the Sanger Indian Varsity Basketball, Volleyball, and Softball teams. He's been announcing their games since 2004.

He is retired, after being employed with the City of Denton as the Home Chemical Collection Supervisor.  He is married to Christine since 1980 and they have two children. Katy Hall and her husband Trey of Sanger, Kyle Waggoner and his wife Delana of Muenster.  They have 1 grandchild, Ryleigh Hall of Sanger.

For the congregation Craig has most recently served as the deacon overseeing the work with the Cherokee Home for Chldren and the ladies ministry WInGS.  Most Sundays you will find him helping with the worship service in coordination of worship participants or leading singing. He also rotates teaching the Adult II class in the auditoriuIm.

In his spare time he is a Ham radio operator and works for a local harvester.

Jimmy Waggoner

Jimmy was born in Gainesville Texas and raised in Sanger. His parents Venson and Dorothy Waggoner were life-long members of the church at Sanger. His father also served as an elder before he passed away.  

Jimmy is married to Susan and they have 3 grown children. James, Jr. and wife Rachel and their children Maicey, Violet and Thomas. daughters Melissa and Sara. 

Jimmy and Susan are both very involved in church activities from VBS to teaching Bible class and assisting at summer camps.
